Still life

So I got my hands on a full manual, 65mm macro lens. The thing is beautiful. GORGEOUS in fact. I think about 30 seconds went by before I was in the studio shooting with this thing haha. Anyways, we were assigned a still life project to play with lighting. I grabbed a bag of peanut butter m and m's and went on my way.
.

This shot always reminds me of those classic space shots you see of two huge planets orbiting near eachother.

Break project

Over Christmas break we were tasked with shooting our home as if it was our first time there. I don't know, I assume it had something to do with trying to break the mold and looking for originality and creativity in uninspiring places. BUT, I didn't. Couldn't do it. That is, not until my Mother gave me a little inspiration when she told me that the one thing she makes a point of changing every year was the candy on the table. So I said what the hell, and gave it a shot. The series focuses on the candy and little ornaments that were spread out on the table at the time.

Narrative project

This week's assignment involved creating a photographic narrative using 6-12 images. I think it was in order to teach us how to properly order images, but I just went out and had some fun with it. My project is a "Dear John" story of sort, and is also shot as a series of self portraits. I think the project speaks for itself though, so take a look...

Credit also goes to my buddy Rob for helping me with some of the shots. You can check out his work over at http://88below.blogspot.com/

My work

It's been a day or two and I haven't uploaded any serious images yet. So i'd say the best place to start is with a couple random shots I've taken lately.

This isn't a complete summation of my work and style, but it represents a good chunk of my style. You can see a lot more of my work at www.solasphotographic.deviantart.com right, until I post more here. Let me know what you think!
